  • Frequently Asked Questions About Our Surrey Motorhome Hire

What is included with the motorhome hire?

See a list of what is included with your motorhome hirehere.

What is the height and width of the mooveo C6 motorhome?

The height of the motorhome is 3.09m, the width is 2.3m and the length is 6.5m. To find out the weight and other information then see the full Mooveo C6 specification.

What will happen to my car when I am away?

We will provide off road storage for your car while you’re away. Keys will need to be left with us and we will also need to see proof of current motor vehicle insurance for the vehicle being left.  Please note that we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage whilst it is parked.

When can I collect the motorhome?

Collections take place typically between 3pm and 6pm but can be arranged for after 12 noon. We will always do our best to ensure the motorhome is ready when you are – but we may have to coordinate with the prior rental.

When do I need to return the Motorhome?

We need the Motorhome back around 10am – to be ready for the next rental. Sorry we do like you to be punctual as we have to ensure the motorhome is fully prepared for the next group to enjoy their trip away.

How long should I allow at the beginning of our trip for a handover?

If this will be your first trip away with a motorhome we would ideally like to spend an hour or so with you running through the fittings. We do supply a manual that we have written that also tells you how to operate all the appliances.

Can you collect from an Airport or Railway Station?

Yes we can! We will personally arrange to pick you up (up to four people) from either Heathrow (£45 each way), or Gatwick (£30 each way). We will wait for you at the arrival gate with a sign. We are also able to pick you up from Woking station at no charge.

I’m travelling from abroad. Can I leave suitcases with you while I am away?

Yes no problem, we can store them for you.

Do you have Bedding we can hire?

Yes we have bedding available to hire at a hire cost of £20 per person. This will give you two pillows, a quilt, a quilt cover, bottom sheet and pillow cases. If you are staying for longer than one week we will supply extra sheets and pillowcases at no extra charge. We can also supply you with towels at a cost of £8. This will give you one bath sheet, one hand towel and a flannel per person. Please let us know at the time of booking so we can have the bedding available for you.

Can I smoke in the motorhome?

Very simply, no! It is illegal to smoke in our motorhome and we therefore adopt a strict no smoking policy.

Can I bring pets on holiday with me?

We do allow dogs in our motorhome, but please note that you will need to clean the motorhome before returning it, which means removing all dog hairs! We also kindly request that you bring their bedding with you for them to travel and sleep on. Other pets maybe allowed upon request.

Can we bring our bikes with us?

Yes, absolutely! The motorhome has a bike rack fitted which will hold up to four bikes.

    How does the insurance work?

Fully Comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge. The vehicle is insured for the period of hire contracted ONLY, thus late return of the vehicle would incur a traffic offence under the road traffic act. Hirers are advised to take out additional personal holiday insurance. A £1250 excess payable by the hirer, is applied to all vehicles. We reserve the right to obtain a pre-approval of any amount up to the insurance excess against the drivers’ or hirers’ credit card. | top |

What driving License do I require?

Drivers must be over 25 and under 75 years of age and have held a full driving license for at least two years. In certain circumstances the lower age limit can be reduced to 21. The license must be unendorsed (except for speeding and parking offences) and must be produced when collecting the vehicle. Visitors from abroad must hold a current international driving permit or license (Foreign license holders will incur an additional insurance premium charge). Any current endorsements (within three years) will incur an additional insurance premium charge. Two forms of identity proof (including photo such as a passport) must be produced by all hirers at the start of the hire ie. utility bills, bank statements or credit card statements.

What happens with my deposit cheque?

We ask for a deposit of £150 for every hire. This is fully returnable on completion of your holiday as long as the motorhome is returned undamaged, in a reasonably clean state and with the waste water and toilet empty. The cheque will be returned to you uncashed after 30 days (to ensure that there are no parking tickets etc left upaid).

    What happens if I breakdown?

In the unlikely event of a breakdown, the hirer should seek the assistance of the appropriate breakdown company quoting the registration number of the vehicle. Hirers are authorised to request repairs up to the value of £50. Repairs costing in excess of £50 must first be authorised by Surrey Motorhome Hire prior to the work being undertaken.

We hope this answers your main questions, but if you have a query which isn’t covered on this page, then please do get in contact with us and we’ll do our best to answer them for you.
